The Adjective Buono

L'aggettivo "buono" (The Adjective Buono)

Introduction. You will recall that in Italian, adjectives most often follow their nouns. However, common adjectives that describe beauty, age, goodness, and size, or their opposites, can precede the noun.

Buono is one of the adjectives that can have two positions in the sentence. The following forms of buono are used before nouns. For reasons of pronunciation, these forms are related to the indefinite article:

singolare: buon, buono, buona, buon'
plurale: buoni, buone

When buono follows a noun, it has only four forms: buono, buona, buoni, buone. These forms are also used when buono follows the verb essere.
